Day 26

Here's an interesting one. I found the four leaf clover in a previous post in my yard. I have a section of my grass that tends to have them more often for some reason. Anyway, yesterday (since I'm posting this one day late), DS and I went for a long walk. DH and I are in the process of making a very major decision in our lives and as he and I crossed a grassy area between two strip malls, I thought, "if this is the right decision, please let me see a four leaf clover." I know it's a strange thing, but sometimes I just look for signs when it comes to making these decisions. Well... I looked down as soon as I thought that, and this is what I saw:
These were all in about a 1sq ft section. Isn't that wild! It was a tough picture to take. I just couldn't get far enough/high enough away from them to get them really in focus. Also, by the time we got home, some of them weren't looking so fresh anymore. I think you can get the idea, though. Yep, I'd say we're making the right decision. ;)

Day 25

DS discovered something new and interesting today... Wanna know what it was? Here is he with daddy, digging the little suckers up.

Day 24

Took some flower pics today. I guess that can only mean one thing - Spring has really arrived!
:)
Look what I found!

Day 23

This is good old George. George was adopted was adopted in September, and we knew had special needs when we adopted him. His disability affects his coordination and it affects his ability to make rational decisions. He's a sweetie pie and his favorite human in the world is my son. We have many pictures of him snuggling our little guy while both of them are sound asleep. Anyway, today I was putting my son down for a nap and I heard this rustling. I could NOT figure out where it was coming from and I was just leaning to peek over the hamper when I noticed this:
This one gives you a better idea of how deep the hamper is.

That hamper is a good 2 1/2 feet tall. I can NOT for the life of me figure out how he managed to get in there. He's just not generally able to jump well. I thought it was such a funny picture I had to grab my camera. It was hard to take well, though, because it was dark in there and it's hard to focus in the dark. Still, I think they're cute!

Day 22

Just a quickie today to go along with our weekly theme. It's just a shadow picture. You can see the major flaw in the image. I grabbed a white sheet of paper, not paying attention to the fact that there are chords to a song on the other side. Yep, the flash sort of made them show right through. I could have (and probably should have!) reshot, but honestly, it's kind of fun in its dorkiness. Ah well. Perhaps a better shot tomorrow!

Day 21

Some fun from today - popsicles!!!!! for this week's theme, check back to day 6, LOL! I have a good one there! :)

Day 20

Sorry I've been so atrociously bad about updating on time. Life has been very, very crazy this week. This is yesterday, playing outside. I just thought these were sweet.

This one is right after crying because the neighbor left. She's a seven year old girl who is amazing to him and he was so sad when she left to ride her bike. Poor guy! Check out those eyes, though!

Checking out the elastic that helps keep his pants up!

LOVE this one! Being silly in the car.

Day 19

Last day of what makes me me.

My tattoos!

There is a story and a meaning behind each one.

This one means love in Chinese. I got it because I was in love with my DH. I had it done when I was 19. It was actually a sort of a surprise for him, because he had recently done one and had no idea I did it until I showed up at his house.

This one is a fairy (and how I got my FF username watersprite). The face on it is actually my little sister at four years old. I was 20 when I had this one done. I thought she was the cutest thing in the world and I couldn't think of a fairy face out there that was cuter, so I had them do her face. This picture makes me realize just how badly it needs to be recolored!

This last one I just had done last month after I lost my twins. I lost the first between 6-7 weeks and the second at 10w4d. One is larger to symbolize the different gestational ages. I had planned to do a dragonfly for YEARS and finally decided to do it and then found out I was pregnant. After I lost the twins, I decided to have two put on so they'd always be with me.

So that's it! I think these past few entries pretty much sum me up!
:)

Day 18

What else makes me me?

My religion!

I'm a convert and I'm also a religious school teacher. My religion (Judaism) is very important to me and is definitely part of who I am. Here are my shabbat candles and my Magen David. (Umm.... I guess you could also say part of what makes me me is my totally disinterest in polishing my silver, LOL)

Day 17

Just a another one to show a part of what makes me me.

Family... Watching my son play with my little sisters. It's so cute!

His first slumber party!!!

Day 16

Today, I'm adding some old pictures that capture more fully who I am.

Most importantly I'm a mommy
I'm a surf bum!
I'm a daughter
I'm a sister

Day 15

Here's my first day of what makes me me. These aren't great, because the toddler wasn't being terribly cooperative, but, hey, that's part of what makes me me also. ;)

I'm a mom. I also enjoy playing the guitar. I' m not terribly good, but I really enjoy it!I'm a wife.

Day 14

This is just a silly one for today because I always have the lazies on Mondays. I'll work on this week's theme starting tomorrow. I think it's a GREAT theme, can't wait.

Anyway, saw this and just CRACKED up. I figured I'd have another decade or so before my kid crashed face down in a book, LOL. I was sitting at the bottom of the bed playing on MZ and when I looked back over, he was out just like this. Love it! It was super hard to focus because it was so dark in there. I used the manual focus because auto just wasn't finding him well. I oddly prefer manual focus anyway.
:)

Day 13

It's rainy and yucky. So, rather than go outside and take pictures of my kid splashing in puddles, I present to you, the EXACT SAME SHOTS taken on Thursday evening. Enjoy! Oh, they are somewhat dark as they were taken after 7PM. They're loads of fun, though!

Day 12

This is DS showing off his new Terrence the Tractor. He's such a HUGE fan of his trains now and he got the tractor to go with his set. Love the rag tag outfit and the food mess on his face. He had JUST gotten up from dinner and ran for his tractor before I could wash him up. I thought it was pretty comical, so rather than clean the kid, I ran for the camera. Pathetic much?

Day 11

Here's a picture I've taken of my latest obsession. Yep, I have no life. I spend AGES each day building the most intricate train tracks I can come up with. I've made some pretty cool ones, honestly. This one is only okay. Dude, I have got to get a life!

Day 10

Today is just a couple of fun pictures. DS and I took a shower together today. Mainly because I needed a shower and I can't seem to do much without company, so we hopped in. These are some fun ones after we got out. Can you tell how much he loves shower time!
:)

Day 9

Here's a pic from today. I'm totally uninspired this week so far, but I really like this one. I was using my stepmother's camera because I had left mine at home and it had this really funky setting where it would basically b/w teh pic with one color highlighted. It randomly picked yellow/green and I figured, why not, so this is the result. I think it shows how much DS LOVES his aunts and how much they love him right back! It sort of fits the weekly theme of "the little things" because I think it's the little things like having a great time with people who love you that make us all happier and healthier people.

Day 8

This picture pretty much goes with my mood. I'm tired and yucky feeling today. I am really having so much fun with my camera, though. We call this tree the "two house killer" because it has a large fork and if it ever took a direct lightening hit there, it woudl split and take out our house and the neighbors'. It's also a crazy leaf shedding machine in the fall. I like how it looks kind of spooky in this shot, though.

Day 7

This is coming in a day late. I think most of us had a tough time yesterday finding inspiration. These were actually taken on Sunday while visiting my dad, stepmother and sisters. I think they're sweet.

Here he is "helping" my sister sort through some hand me downs from her cousin.

Here he is giving Papa a big hug. He does love his papa!

Day 6

Just a quick picture I took this afternoon. This is an old, ugly birdhouse left over from the previous owners of our home. I played with the settings and turned it into a silhouette. I actually think it's rather cool!

:)

Day 5

Just a quickie from today, because it's late and I'm tired! I actually took a lot of pictures, but here are a couple of fun ones.

:)

Day 4!

This was actually taken yesterday, but uploaded today. We were super busy today so I didn't actually take any new pictures. My kid put Daddy's earphones on and told me he was "Doctor E...). That cracked me up. I guess I can sort of see a connection (stethoscope in the ears, headphones on the ears???) He's a nut!

Day 3!

Here's a funny picture of my two year old. He was napping in our bed this afternoon and I turned around to fix something and when I turned back around this is what I saw. This kid is as active in his sleep as he is awake, geesh!

This is one I actually took yesterday, but I like it, so I wanted to share. This is my cat, Shana through the macro lens. ;)
